EXTRACURRICULAR OPPORTUNITES

Chess Club--Tuesdays before and after school--Tournament planned for April

Destination Imagination--A Team Creativity Competition--Teams form in October and Compete in March.  Truman teams have competed for many years.

Future Cities Competition--An engineering competition where teams create a future city on computer, create a model of the city, and do a research essay and abstract of their city.  Competition was in January.  Truman has competed the last 3 years.

I Invent--An engineering competition open to all students.  Proposals are due Feb.4th.  This is the first year of the competition sponsored by Lockheed Martin.

Project Citizen--The Leadership Class will be competing in May in Austin.  Classes choose and pursue a problem that involves a community, discovering public policy issues.  A problem solving strategy is used in developing ideas.
